The Growth Pathway is LIVE, and Rooted is ready for you.
It is the roadmap underneath everything, and every member gets it: five areas of your online presence, three phases of growth, and a clear sense of where your church actually stands right now. Instead of a pile of advice, you get ONE next step, and it is a step you can finish this week. Rooted is open today, and new content lands every month.
Let's face the facts
You don't have a people problem, you have a visibility problem.
The ministry is already good. The preaching is thoughtful, the music is careful, the coffee hour is genuinely warm, and the people who find you tend to stay. The trouble is that a family three streets over has no idea any of it exists, because the only version of your church they can see is a website from 2014 and a Facebook page that went quiet in Lent.
Twenty years inside traditional churches taught me that the congregations who grow are the ones who learned to show up online consistently, clearly, and in a way that welcomes people in *before* they ever walk through the door. That is completely achievable for a small or mid-sized mainline church, and it takes a plan, the right tools, and someone in your corner.
But then Monday comes. 😥
Someone tells you the church needs to do better online. Maybe it's your rector, maybe it's a well-meaning vestry member, maybe it's a board that just read an article about churches and Instagram, and you nod, because what else are you going to say?
And then you sit down to actually do it, and it all arrives at once.
- Where do you even start? Is the website more urgent than social? Should you still be on Facebook? What does better even mean for a church like yours? You Google it, and you find advice written for retail brands, influencers, and startups, which is worth exactly nothing to a parish of ninety people.
- You try a few things, and some of them work, and some of them don't, and you cannot tell which is which, so the list keeps growing and so does the guilt that none of it is finished.
- You open Canva, you stare at a blank flyer, you make something you're not sure about, and you post it anyway because Sunday is coming whether the graphic is good or not.
- And at the next staff meeting somebody asks why the church isn't doing more online, and you smile and say you're working on it, while carrying this on top of everything else ministry already asks of you.
And this is exactly the gap The Commons was built to fill.
Why this is different
What if you opened your laptop on Monday already knowing what to work on, with someone genuinely in your corner while you did it?
That is the whole idea. A Growth Pathway that shows you where your church stands and what comes next, tools that do the heavy lifting instead of adding to your to-do list, real feedback on the designs you're actually making, and a room full of people who understand this work without needing it explained.
I built it because I spent 20+ years working inside traditional and mainline churches, and I watched the same thing happen over and over: digital presence treated as an afterthought until attendance dropped, until a big event flopped, until a family said we didn't even know you existed. I worked in that silo, I know what it feels like to be the only person in the building who cares about the website, so I built the thing I wish somebody had handed me.
Imagine how it will feel when Monday morning already has a plan.
Right now 😕
- A blank content calendar and no idea where to start
- Posting randomly and hoping something lands
- Staring at a Canva file, unsure if it looks right, posting it anyway
- Googling how churches use Instagram at 11pm because nobody at church knows either
- Never sure whether any of the work is making a difference

Everything you need to stop guessing and start growing.
Every piece of The Commons is built to work with the others, so you are never starting from scratch and never doing it by yourself.
The Framework
The Growth Pathway
Your roadmap for the whole thing, and the curriculum at the same time. Five areas of your presence across three phases of growth, so instead of guessing what to fix first, you can see where your church stands and what to work on next. Rooted is live now.
The Tools
The Studio
Home of The Commons Concierge, which hands you a whole week of social posts and the Canva templates to match. Alongside it: the Digital Ministry Voice profile that teaches every tool how your church sounds, and Font Finder, which settles the typography question in about two minutes.
The Fan Favorite
Canva Check-In
This is the part members love most. Send the thing you're working on, a social graphic, an event flyer, whatever is sitting half-finished in your Canva account, and I will refine it with you before it goes out. You bring the idea, and together we bring it to life.
Do It With Me
Workbooks + Interactive Tools
The Growth Pathway lessons come with the working documents, designed workbooks and interactive builders where you put in your church's details and walk away with something finished and usable. You are not taking notes for later, you are doing the actual work.
Live Together
Quarterly Planning Sessions
Four times a year we meet live to step back, look at where you are on the Growth Pathway, and decide where your energy goes next. No pressure and no performance, just a real conversation about what's working, what isn't, and what your church needs most right now.
Community
Your People, and Direct Access to Me
A place to ask the question you think is too basic, share the win nobody at church noticed, and stop feeling behind. Plus direct access to me when you need a second set of eyes or a straight answer, which is usually all it takes to get unstuck.
The Commons Concierge
You will never wonder what to post again. Or when. Or how it should look.
Ten minutes on a Monday: you tell the Concierge what's happening at church this week, and it hands back five to seven finished posts in your church's own voice, with the Canva template for each one already picked out.
It already knows your week.
Pick your Sunday and the Concierge pulls that week's lectionary readings for YOUR tradition, Revised Common or Episcopal, then layers in your sermon theme, a quote from this past Sunday, and the recurring events you told it about once and never have to type again. Not a lectionary church? Give it your sermon topic and it builds the week around that instead.
It sounds like your church.
Every caption runs through your Digital Ministry Voice profile, so it reads like your parish rather than a marketing account that wandered in by mistake. Each post arrives with an Instagram version and a Facebook version, hashtags mixing local and denominational, drafted alt text so your posts are accessible, and a suggested day to put it out.
The templates come with it.
This is the part people underestimate: every post arrives matched to a Studio Kons Canva template, with a note on why that one fits and an alternate or two when there's a real choice to make. The library spans the four content pillars, Teach & Inspire, Encourage & Support, Celebrate & Uplift, Invite & Inform, and the whole church year from Advent through Ordinary Time. The graphic is one click away instead of a blank Canva canvas at 9pm on a Tuesday.
Preaching a series? It keeps up.
The Concierge remembers what it gave you the past several weeks, so a six-week series doesn't turn into six weeks of the same post. Week one sets the frame, week two digs into something specific, week three invites a response, and it rotates the templates as it goes so your feed never starts looking like a photocopy of itself.
Add Event Ease for the big things on your calendar and every part of your week is covered: the regular rhythm, the events, the design, and the strategy underneath all of it.

A closer look
The Growth Pathway, in three phases.
Every phase covers the same five areas, Know, Show, Reach, Invite, and Connect, so you are always building on what you already have rather than starting over.
Rooted
You get clear on who your church is, what you're actually saying, and who you're saying it to. Voice, identity, and the digital foundation underneath everything. You get planted before you grow.
This is where you start, and it's live inside The Commons right now.
Rising
Your church starts showing up regularly, recognizably, and sustainably. The systems are in place, the momentum is real, and the work stops depending on whether you happened to have a good week.
Thriving
Your presence starts drawing people in. They find you, they feel something, and they want to come closer. The growth is visible, outward-facing, and pointed at the people who aren't inside your walls yet.
New content lands every month, and the Pathway keeps growing with you rather than sitting there finished. Wherever your church is today, there is a phase that fits.
And there's more
There's a bonus, too. 🎉

Is this you?
The Commons is for you if…
- ✅ You're the one responsible for your church's online presence, as clergy, staff, or a volunteer who somehow inherited it.
- ✅ You've been told to do more online, with no real guidance about what that means for a church like yours.
- ✅ You're tired of guessing and you want a plan you can actually follow, built for a parish rather than a brand.
- ✅ You want to feel like a confident, valued contributor to your church's growth.
- ✅ You're done trying to apply mega-church advice, built for full marketing teams, to a congregation where the marketing team is you.
- ✅ You'd rather learn to do this yourself, with the tools, the support, and the people to make it stick.
If you're nodding at most of these, you're in the right room.

Your guide
Hi, I'm Leslie.
I've spent 20+ years working inside traditional and mainline Protestant churches, and right now I serve as Director of Music and Digital Ministry at Round Hill Community Church, which means I do this work every single week, in a real church, with a real budget and real constraints and a real Sunday deadline.
I'm also a classically trained organist with credentials from Yale and the Cleveland Institute of Music, and a Harvard Business School Online graduate, so I understand both the culture of traditional churches and the business of building something that actually works.
Here is what I believe: your church's digital presence is an act of faithful proclamation. It is telling the world who you are, what you believe, and who is welcome at your table. The Commons is how I help you do that.
What people say
Here's what it's like to work with me.
Leslie's vision, combined with her impeccable taste, will transform your church's digital presence. This is a resource you can trust.

Everything Leslie designs has such an air of unpretentious class and stylishness that makes it feel accessible to all walks of life.

Got questions?
Here are some answers.
What's in the Growth Pathway right now?
How is The Commons delivered?
We don't follow the lectionary. Does the Concierge still work?
How does Canva Check-In work?
I'm not very tech-savvy. Will I be able to keep up?
How much time does this actually take?
What if my church is really small?
Will the $37 rate go up?
Can I pay yearly instead?
Is there a refund policy?
What if my question isn't here?
You're still here. And that tells me something.
You care what your church looks like to the person on the outside. You want people to find you, to feel welcome when they do, and to come back. And you're carrying that work mostly alone, often with nobody to ask, on top of everything else ministry already asks of you.
So whatever you decide, whether you join The Commons or not, please DO NOT wait another year to take your church's online presence seriously, because you don't want to look back and think we missed so many people, and I wish we'd started sooner.
The Commons is the roadmap you've been missing, the support you've deserved the whole time, and a room full of people waiting to help your church grow. Your part is just to show up, and if you do join, I cannot wait to see what your church becomes.
With love,
Leslie
